RAB are passionate about staff development and training. This includes a range of initiatives which form part of our RAB Academy. These include:

  • On the job training and learning within a supportive team.
  • A line manager with suitable skills and qualifications to support with your future development.
  • A supervising Civil Engineer / Chartered CIWEM manager to guide and support you through the ICE process to become Chartered.
  • The opportunity to guide and support others through processes for them to become chartered.
  • Continual development opportunities to further qualifications, knowledge and skills.
  • Support, skills and knowledge to take advantage of promotion opportunities.
  • Support from the Team to experience a range of work, move towards specialisms, achieve promotion.

We are also proud to be an Approved ICE Training Employer, which ensures each trainee has a training structure to achieve and monitor progress against 9 key attributes including an initial assessment meeting, regular development reviews, a formal annual review of progress and plans, and confirmation of completion.

Our work is challenging and varied requiring strong technical, communication and organisational skills along with self-motivation. We offer an Institution of Civil Engineers Training Agreement and pathways to achieving membership and Chartership of CIWEM and other professional bodies.
