Our Journey

RAB Consultants was established in Lichfield, Staffordshire in 2006 by Russell Burton. Russell enjoyed an early career as a Flood Risk Engineer and Incident Manager. His role in various incidents around the turn of the millennium such as the floods of Easter 1998 and Autumn 2000, Foot & Mouth Disease, fuel strike and the millennium bug, convinced Russell that a company dedicated to increasing resilience and reducing flood risk was needed to help the nation adapt and become more resilient to the risks we all face.

Bryan Nelson shared that vision and joined the Management team as Resilience Director in 2008, bringing his expertise in flood forecasting & warning, as well as a new team and office in Durham.

We continued to grow and diversify our range and location of services, opening our Bedford and Stirling Offices in 2012 and 2016 respectively. In 2016, our Quality Management System was certified by BSi to ISO9001:2015.

We offer our services throughout the UK and now internationally, with recent projects in Spain, Nepal and New Zealand.

Our Values

Our success and customer service are built on the shared values of our team, which are to:
