How Were the Lower Thames Asset Inspections Completed?
Recently, accredited Asset Inspectors Josh and Jess joined Environment Agency River Inspectors on a boat on the Lower Thames to undertake a programme of T98 visual asset inspections and Public Safety Risk Assessment (PSRA) inspections. Utilising Environment Agency resources to access an island location, the team was able to safely reach assets that would otherwise have presented significant access challenges and ensure that inspection outcomes were accurate and best represented current conditions.
What Did the Public Safety Risk Assessment Inspections Assess?
The PSRA inspections focused on reviewing the existing control measures in place across the island and assessing whether they remain fit for purpose. These assessments are essential in confirming that safety measures continue to provide the intended level of protection and effectively reduce the risk of water and land-based hazards to members of the public.
What Were the Outcomes of the Lower Thames Inspections?
Through close collaboration between the Environment Agency, River Inspectors, and our asset inspection team, all planned inspections were completed successfully, providing valuable condition and safety information to support ongoing asset management decisions.
