New Research: How Climate Change Will Affect Groundwater Flooding

It is generally accepted that climate change will result in more frequent and more extreme flooding events in the UK. The research into the potential impacts of climate change and development of flood models which account for these changes has grown significantly over the past two decades. However, these models still generally poorly represent the risks and impacts posed by groundwater flooding, and particularly climate change impacts.

In the latest episode of Project Groundwater’s Groundwater Rising podcast, Katie Hargrave-Smith speaks to Rachel May about her ground-breaking research into how climate change will affect occurrence and magnitude of groundwater flooding in the future.
