RAB Contributes to Caribbean Climate Conference
Two members of the RAB Resilience Team recently took part in webinar on flood risk management and climate change in the Caribbean. Global climate change is a very real phenomenon, and further impact on counties and communities is inevitable. For the Caribbean it represents one of the largest threats to sustainable development.
The event, organised and hosted by the Centre for Biosecurity at the University of West Indies, bought together some of the leading experts from around the world. Dr Kirk Douglas of the University of the West Indies had personally invited RAB to contribute to the webinar and share experiences from the UK.
Bryan Nelson (Resilience Director) and Sophie Dusting (Senior Resilience Advisor) gave a presentation entitled ‘UK Flood Emergency Response and Good Practice‘.
Bryan and Sophie showcased examples from the UK as well as looking at potential scenarios for the Caribbean too. Key highlights from the presentation included:
