TeamRAB Ready for Welsh Three Peaks Charity Challenge
Enjoying the outdoors is something of a necessity when you work in the flood risk management and resilience sectors, and the team at RAB are typically ‘at home’ when they are in the countryside.
That attitude extends to our charity fund raising activities too. Back in 2022 ten of our team completed the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in a little over 24 hours! We raised over £1500 for our chosen charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders).
Now we are at it again, this month climbing the three highest peaks in Wales, namely Snowden, Cadair Idris, and Pen Y Fan. Once again there are ten TeamRAB members involved in the challenge, three ‘veterans’ from the last climb and seven ‘newbies’ keen to cut their charity challenge teeth!
Our chosen charity this year is the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) which brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of humanitarian crisis overseas such as the Floods in Pakistan and the Turkey-Syria Earthquake. It is a charity close to our company ethos given our focus on flood risk management, flood forecasting and warning, and emergency management and planning.
The challenge is planned for the 15-17th August, and we have set-up a JustGiving page for donations: https://www.justgiving.com/team/rabconsultants-welshpeakschallenge
Below are some of the pictures we took from the 2022 challenge that quite literally involved all four British seasons in one day!
