RAB Proud to Partner with CIWEM’s BeFloodReady Initiative – Which is Now Live!

RAB is delighted and proud to be involved with the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management’s (CIWEM) Community of Practice for Property Flood Resilience. Their new BeFloodReady website is now live, providing a wide range of information and resources for industry professionals, public sector organisations, and the general public who are affected by the increase in flood events across the UK.

Our team here at RAB have been working closely as a CIWEM Partner on a number of aspects over the past few years. Here are some of the reasons why we have engaged with this latest BeFloodReady initiative and what we bring to the table:

  • Appointed as Primary Lot 1 Delivery Partner for the Environment Agency’s national PFR Framework.
  • Work independently of PFR product manufacturers and installers, so you are assured of the best solution and design.
  • Accepted and accredited by the Insurance Industry.
  • Advised on the recently published and industry leading PFR Code of Practice.
  • Supply independent PFR surveys for the construction industry, as well as PFR training for surveyors and specialist services including historic buildings and property portfolio managers.
  • Help author engaging non-technical documents that explain the PFR process to property owners and residents.
  • Facilitate community engagement meetings where residents can ask our experienced surveyors any questions they have about a scheme.
  • Deliver a range of PFR training packages from introductory online training to bespoke technical in-house facilitated training courses.
  • Heavily involved in a range of research and development projects seeking to promote best practice and help improve the resilience of assets to flooding (working alongside both private and public sector organisations, as well as academic institutions).

We believe that CIWEMs Community of Practice for Property Flood Resilience will raise awareness of PFR, provide a forum for developing and sharing good practice within the industry and result in better preparedness for homeowners and businesses at risk from flooding. The whole team at RAB are dedicated to increasing resilience and reducing flood risk in the places we work, live and play.
