Flood Action Week 2026 is here!
Throughout the week, members of the RAB team will be attending events across the country to raise awareness of flood risk, champion Property Flood Resilience (PFR) and support the work being done to help protect homes and communities from flooding.
From industry discussions and parliamentary engagement to community outreach and research, the week provides an opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen collaboration and highlight the practical steps that can help improve flood resilience.
Here’s a rundown of where we’ll be and what we’ll be doing this week.
Tuesday 13th October
IPFRA strategy meeting – Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), London
We’re joining colleagues from the International Property Flood Resilience Association (IPFRA) to discuss the organisation’s strategic direction, review progress and identify priorities for making property flood resilience more widely adopted. Discussions will include industry standards, stakeholder engagement and the actions needed to support the wider uptake of PFR.
BeFloodReady Parliamentary reception, London
Hosted by Flood Re, the reception will bring the flood resilience conversation to Westminster, providing an opportunity to raise awareness of flood risk and the role of PFR in helping protect properties and communities. It also forms part of the wider effort to encourage greater understanding of flood preparedness and resilience.
Wednesday 14th October
Floodmobile showcase – Tenbury Wells
RAB Consultants will join the Environment Agency and Whitehouse Construction at a Floodmobile drop-in event to provide an update on the Tenbury Wells Property Flood Resilience Scheme.
Taking place at Tenbury Community Swimming Pool car park from 12pm to 5pm, the event will give residents the opportunity to speak with the project team, ask questions about the scheme and Homeowner Agreements, and explore different PFR measures up close. The FloodMobile will help visitors understand how these solutions work and how they can help reduce the impact of flooding on properties.
Thursday 15th October
PFR Roundtable – The Deep aquarium, Hull
As part of the Roundtable agenda, our Managing Director Russell Burton will be joining remotely to present an item on Living with Groundwater, a project we’re delivering as part of Project Groundwater.
Russell’s presentation will inform the Roundtable about the project and gather feedback from attendees to help shape the work.
Flood Re PFR testing research results – University of Hull’s PFRlab, Hull
The day will also include the presentation of Flood Re’s results from property flood resilience testing research undertaken at the University of Hull’s PFRlab, followed by a drinks reception. The research contributes to the wider work taking place across the sector to improve understanding of property flood resilience measures and support their application.
Throughout the week, we’ll also be sharing updates, insights and recaps from the events we attend. Keep an eye on LinkedIn page (RAB Consultants) to follow the team’s activities and find out more about the people, projects and initiatives helping to improve property flood resilience across the UK.
