Through our role as the Resilience Workstream lead for Project Groundwater, RAB Consultants are helping to empower communities to be better informed and more resilient to the impacts of groundwater flooding.
Residents who don’t own their home can often feel powerless to make the changes necessary to become more resilient to flooding. In the latest episode of the Groundwater Rising podcast, Property Flood Resilience (PFR) champion Mary Long-Dhonau and Craig Glynn (Citizens Advice) discuss renters rights and responsibilities when it comes to managing flooding, and provide tips and advice as to how tenants can become better prepared. Through our role on Project Groundwater, RAB have completed over 70 PFR surveys across the 9 pilot communities to date, including surveys on behalf of landlords for a number of tenanted properties. We also previously hosted a webinar in November 2024 (available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DITuY4FmFkY) to discuss the benefits of landlords making their properties more resilient to flooding.
Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested to hear more about our role and innovative work on Project Groundwater, or how we can support residents and communities become more resilient to flooding through Property Flood Resilience measures.
