RAB are proud of our commitment to recruit, train and develop professionals across a range of subject areas, and this includes supporting a number of apprenticeships each year. This process often starts with visits to local schools and colleges, and earlier this year Jess and Josh from our Engineering team visited a local Sixth Form to deliver a careers and education pathway talk to students exploring their next steps after school.
Their talk was targeted at students studying geography, and intended to demonstrate how a career in engineering is an option from their earth sciences background. Both Jess and Josh shared their unique journeys into engineering at RAB:
- Josh followed a traditional academic path, progressing through undergraduate and postgraduate study.
- Jess joined RAB as a degree apprentice, gaining hands-on experience while studying towards her qualification.
The session aimed to broaden their awareness of the multiple pathways available to them and encourage them to find the route that best suits their ambitions, whether that be university, apprenticeships, or other routes into industry.
We’re proud to say that following the session, one of the students joined us for a period of work experience at our Lichfield office, supporting the Engineering team across a range of exciting projects.
