RAB participates in cross-party Westminster Sustainable Business Forum

The team at RAB regularly witness the impact that increased rainfall levels have on homes and businesses across the UK. As a result, we have a long held the belief that government policy can help reduce the impact of climate change on our built environment.

We were therefore delighted to be invited to participate in a recent meeting of the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum, organised in conjunction with the Policy Connect cross-party think tank.

Sustainability is one of the four main pillars of Policy Connect, which provides impactful research, forums, and event programmes for parliamentary groups. Last year they published Bricks & Water: Building resilience for England’s homes, with the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum.

The report calls for urgent action to ensure that new homes are water efficient, resilient to flooding and dispose of surface water sustainably.

Many of the points and recommendations of the report are pertinent to RAB and the work we do. We are therefore pleased to get involved in the important work of both Policy Connect and the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum and look forward to contributing to future strategy and policy.
