Before… During… and soon to be After

It is always great to see a project nearing completion, and even better to look back and compare images from ‘before, during and after’.

This is a project to reconstruct a riverbank in Buxton, Derbyshire. The original dry-stone wall had partially collapsed, mainly due to vegetation overgrowth, and there was a real risk of further collapse and channel blockage.

The team at RAB were commissioned to design a solution and oversee the repairs. This involved the complete removal of vegetation (including rootballs), and construction of a blockwork wall with dry stone wall facias, utilizing the existing stone where possible. The bank was reprofiled, and the final stage involves reseeding and demobilisation of the compound.

RAB have extensive experience working with flood assets that are owned by both public and private sector organisations.
