Flood asset inspection and flood asset registers for risk management authorities
We are the Environment Agency’s official supplier of the Flood Risk and Coastal Erosion Asset Inspection Accreditation scheme (commonly referred to as the T98 course).
The course is suitable for UK Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Authorities required to inspect and report on the condition of flood and coastal erosion assets, as well as Scottish Local Authorities who need to make justifiable recommendations for clearance and/or repair works in accordance with the Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act.
Learning outcomes
The training builds competence to visually inspect flood and coastal erosion assets using the Condition Assessment Manual (CAM) and following relevant policies and procedures.
The accreditation tests the inspectors’ competence to undertake the role and highlights areas that may require further training. If successful candidates become accredited Asset Inspectors for 5 years to Environment Agency (T98) standards and independently certified by CIWEM.
“The CIWEM Assessor Panel stated that this is a mature training package which has been offered for close to a decade in conjunction with the Environment Agency. The material provided indicates a thorough approach to its organisation.”
Course options
The full course is like learning to drive as there are theory, practice, and assessment stages. We offer 3-day and 1-day courses to suit your organisation and guide candidates through the theory and practice stages, as well as a route to full accreditation.
We offer bespoke and open courses with costs starting at £295/delegate.
