Season’s Greetings from the Team at RAB!

As the holiday season is upon us, we take a moment to reflect on 2024 and express our heartfelt gratitude for the partnerships we have formed and strengthened over the past year. Some of the highlights include:

• The Engineering Team have continued to get their boots dirty inspecting hundreds of Flood Risk Assets and making recommendations to improve Public Safety at river and coastal assets across the UK & Ireland. We also gained CIWEM Certification for our Training courses in Asset Inspection and Public Safety Risk Assessment, watch this space for more news on that in the new year. The Team also met the Welsh 3 peaks challenge…just!

• The Flood Risk and Drainage Team have handled over 400 Enquiries and the team have been extending their flood modelling capabilities with new Causeway Flow software and on a number of Water Pollution Management projects. Dr Alexandros Tsavdaris celebrated achieving Chartered Engineer status with the ICE.

• The Property Flood Resilience Team have been growing and extremely busy making recommendations to increase the flood resilience of hundreds of properties flooded as a result of Storms Babet and Henk, both for the Defra Flood Repair grant schemes and Build Back Better Insurance claims.

• The Resilience Team have had another busy year delivering exercises, training and Business Continuity Services as far a field as New Zealand. The team celebrated success being awarded as the sole supplier for the Environment Agency’s Emergency Preparedness Framework for Emergency Planning services and personal success for Sophie Dusting’s award as the BCI Continuity and Resilience Consultant of the Year for Europe.

• We’ve welcomed 7 new starters, including our 100th employee (Beth Irwin-Jones).

• We’ve launched the RAB Academy which sets out the pathways for personal development of our Team members.

• We received a commendation for our Commitment to the Environment at the annual Beacon Awards.

• And not forgetting all of our customers who gave us a satisfaction rating of 4.9/5.0 this year!

We are grateful for the opportunities to collaborate and contribute to the success of all our clients. As we approach the new year, we look forward to celebrating further successes as we strive to increase resilience and reduce flood risk.
