Ive been out inspecting some of our coastal assets in Suffolk. It can be great if the weather is playing ball, but it’s not all fun and games…

Horrendous erosion seen on the coast of Covehithe, Suffolk, hate to think of how much crop has gone to waste!

Finally some dunes intact! Dunes provide a wonderful habitat for a variety of coastal wildlife and I have seen so much devastation of this type of habitat as a result of erosion and pedestrian footfall trampling down the ecosystems. They are also a type of flood defence which help to protect many inland habitats, properties and land from coastal flooding and can even provide protection from strong stormy winds. Please protect our dunes!
